Parents have GREAT things to say about their child’s week at Royal Family KIDS Camp!

Why do YOU like Royal Family KIDS Camp?

  • “They had a great time, were exposed to new skills, and had the fact of their importance as a child of God reinforced. The fact that they also came back without major behavioral issues was amazing.”
  • “I really think it gave my son some good memories that he will never forget! He loved connecting with his Big Camper and the horse he got to ride! He came home excited and talking about God! ❤️”
  • “Truly, they loved it so much, they cried the first night they came home. They had a great time, was exposed to new skills and had the fact of their importance as a child of God reinforced. The fact that they also came back without major behavioral issues was amazing.”
  • “I love the individual attention that is given to each child to make him or her feel special.”
  • “I love the Godly influence on the kids and the chance for them to have fun and feel really special all week long.”
  • “It offered my child a chance to be independent without being alone. It turned his heart even more toward the Lord. Camp gave him memories to last a lifetime.”
  • “The low ratio of leader to student, the love and care the children receive, and the range of experiences they have.”
  • “My daughter had a blast at camp. You all made it very special with it being her last year {since she graduated}. She looks forward to applying for teen camper and telling all little campers her great experiences she had as little camper for the last five years. Thank you to everyone!!!!!”
  • “The staff is the greatest.  I truly appreciate the message of God, and they are loved by so many.  It is an event she looks forward to and it is consistent in the message and quality.”
  • “I liked that this was an opportunity for our daughter to go to her first overnight summer camp. And this camp was more than a traditional over night camp; you guys go above and beyond to customize it for every kid and have plenty of great staff and resources to make this an extra special experience.”
  • “They had a GREAT experience and loved the staff!”
  • “Made my little boy feel super important. He came home knowing how amazing he is.”

Why did you choose to send your child to RFKC this summer?

  • “Because as much as I want my kids to experience new things, it usually causes more harm than good if they’re around people who do not understand his Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD). This camp was highly recommended by our home supervisor precisely because of the extensive training.”
  • “I heard from other foster moms how great it is for the kids.”
  • “I think it’s the best camp for foster kids, ever!”
  • “Because he went last year and talked about it all winter long. He wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.”
  • “He loves his Big Camper and still talks about him all the time. What a wonderful guy he must have been!!”
  • “Our daughter went to a different RFKC last year and loved it; however, she liked the one here even better! She felt very special and had a wonderful time.”
  • “It gives all these little kiddos a chance to be a kid and do activities they never dreamed of. This is the only camp I’ll send my little ones to. It’s because of the Big Campers and all they do. It takes a very special person to give of their time to these little ones and help make dreams come true.”
  • “The camp is our daughter’s summer highlight.  It also gives husband and I some time to renew our relationship knowing she was in a safe place.  Mostly, it is because she needs to be reminded she is loved and many people care about her.”
  • “It’s basically free to foster parents [$25 registration fee only!] and we knew our new foster daughter would be in safe hands and I’ve heard so many good things about RFKC from other foster parents and staff at DHS that have helped at RFKC from the beginning.”
  • “Foster children are not allowed to do a lot of things as sleeping over other friends homes fire works and many other things per agency rules. But at RFKC, they have many friends, counselors, and mentors.”

What positive things did you observe after your child returned home from camp?

  • “They came back parroting some plays they saw performed that promoted the values I’m trying to instill in them.”
  • “My son’s love and excitement for good and desire to connect with animals. He had so much fun he’s begging to go next year!”
  • “Our son has really worked hard to get along better with his siblings. He’s very excited to be adopted soon!”
  • “Our daughter really enjoyed the arts and crafts time and was very proud to show me all of her pieces.”
  • “Sheer happiness. More confidence. Better swimming skills.”
  • “She felt supported and encouraged.  We were proud to hear that she kept trying to pass the swim test, even though it took 3 times.  Thank you for encouraging her to keep trying until she passed!”
  • “The fun fun fun!!! Riding horses, the tea party, arts and crafts and new friendships. Saying goodbye [because she graduated from RFKC] was very hard for my daughter she will miss her Big Camper. She has been a great role model and mentor for her.”
  • “We heard much about the birthday party. Our daughter’s birthday is in July and so she often feels left out during the school year and she shared each detail about the birthday party at RFKC, where every kid had a special party.”
  • “Our foster daughter said she had a fabulous time. She still uses the music player that was given to her. I love that she got so many things to remember this experience: tie-dye shirt, duffel bag, water bottle, photo album . . . she has taken good care of everything she received.”
  • “She had so much fun at camp. She’s never been to an overnight camp before and she was just glowing telling us all the fun things she did. She also told her Aunt and Uncle and siblings that don’t live with her.”
  • “Our foster children have come home with a better attitude, outlook, and had something they look forward to next year.”
  • “He loved his Camp Counselor/Big Camper. He kept saying how kind he was and how much fun he had.”
